Make Your Own Car Decal (free file included!)

Disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning I may receive a small commission if you decide to make a purchase through my links. This is of no cost to you, and rest assured I only include links to items that I have used and loved myself.

I don’t know about you, but I can never find a car decal that suits my personality. I can also never find anything personalized either because my parents spelled my name with one L instead of 2, but I digress.

This will be a quick post because it’s a pretty simple process. I’ve added 2 downloadable files: one for you to use as your car decal, and the other to print and frame (or use as a screen saver!). I hope you like this decal, but I’d love to see you use your creativity and create your own!

So, I decided to make my own. And to be honest, this car decal is actually for my sister because she knew what she wanted and I’m still thinking about what to put on my own car.

She decided upon this awesome quote:

Do small things with great love.

St. Teresa of Calcutta

I love this because it reminds everyone that even small actions can make a huge impact when done with love!

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

INSTRUCTIONS:

Download your file to Cricut Design Space, and save as a cut file.

I chose a height of 4″ for my decal. After you’ve resized your design, click the “make it” button for Cricut to start cutting! This decal will go on your outside glass, so there’s no need to mirror the design.

Once it’s cut, weed out the background and then apply your transfer tape. The transfer tape I suggest in the “what you will need” section has guidelines on it to help you to make sure your design is straight when you transfer it to your window.

Apply the transfer tape

Make sure your window is super clean and dry – use rubbing alcohol or soap and water.

Once you’ve peeled the backing off your vinyl design, you can adhere to your window with the transfer tape. Use your Cricut scraper or something similar, like a credit card to rub on top of your design to make sure it is fully stuck on your window. Then carefully peel off the transfer tape… and voila!

Do you like this project but don’t want to make it yourself? I’m happy to create it for you-just email me to purchase!

And no worries…I didn’t forget about your downloadable print! Thanks for reading this whole post… here’s your reward!

Leave a comment and let me know what kind of decal you made for your car!
